Happy New Year for Product Knowledge

It may be too early to start thinking about New Year resolutions, but it's not too soon to make training plans for next year. Due to strong demand, the Pilkington Product Knowledge course programme has been announced for 2018.

"Most of our training courses were oversubscribed this year," reports Phil Brown, course organiser and Technical Advisory Service Manager for Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, "with long waiting lists for many of them. On this basis, we released next year's dates much earlier than usual. This gives customers the opportunity to plan their training commitments for the next twelve months."

The training programme includes the two well-established Product Knowledge modules, the introductory and intermediate PK1 for those new to the glass industry and the advanced PK2 for sales and commercial representatives involved in project specifications. Introduced for the first time this year, Fractography adds a new dimension to the overall programme. This course is targeted particularly at customers who undertake site inspections and may be asked to identify the cause of glass breakage.

An innovation for 2018 is the introduction of an online course registration form, which allows customers to select the course type and preferred dates.

"We wanted to make the registration process as quick and simple as possible", explains Phil. "From our website, customers can choose the courses to suit their needs and fit their schedules. Once the online form is submitted, it is processed by our Customer Contact Centre and the booking is confirmed by email."

Training should be a resolution every year and now is the time to start making plans for 2018.
