Pilkington's range of fire-resistant glass is made up of four product lines, each representing different performance profiles. This ensures precise and economical correspondence to the safety requirements in terms of the specific building structure, the building code regulations and the intended use of the building.

  • Pilkington Pyrostop® - (EI glazing)
    Fire-resistant glass for situations and applications that need the highest level of reliable protection from fire, smoke and dangerous radiant heat

  • Pilkington Pyrodur® - (EW glazing)
    Fire-resistant glass for applications that require protection from fire and smoke in combination with reduced transfer of radiant heat

  • Pilkington Pyroclear® - (E glazing)
    Fire-resistant glass for applications that require basic protection from fire and smoke (integrity only performance)

  • Pilkington Pyroshield™ 2
    Fire-resistant wired glass which in the event of fire, provides an effective barrier to flame, smoke and hot gases.

A range of applications by combining multiple functions

Consistent and reliable fire protection is the primary and foremost requirement in all fire-resistant product lines and glass types. Furthermore, the individual fire-resistant glasses can be combined in many different ways with additional multi-functional requirements. For example, the appropriate glass type can be used in façades, roof and sloped glazing, sound insulating and safety partitions, etc. All offered fire-resistant glass combinations and design modifications (printing, lamination, sand-blasting etc.) have passed comprehensive internal testing as well as testing by third party national and international test laboratories and are approved by the national building authorities. This extensive testing has shown that by adding functions the fire-resistant performance is not affected in any way.
