Big Thumbs Up For Activ™
Pilkington Activ™ has been given the seal of approval by the Building Research Establishment (BRE). The centre conducted six months of research and found that Pilkington Activ™ reduces costs and the impact on the environment.  It even suggests that due to the self-cleaning nature of the glass, loss of life and serious injury in window cleaning accidents may be reduced. The research by BRE, one of the world’s most renowned research and testing institutions for building products, reveals information on the environmental impact of Pilkington Activ™ to specifiers and government authorities

Rapid Frame Gets Grade A In Design
Pilkington has been instrumental in helping window manufacturer Rapid Frame Ltd of Walsall market the first cost effective A-rated window. The result is testament to the partnership between Pilkington, aluplast, Edgetech, AG Glass and Rapid Frame. The window uses a combination of 4mm Pilkington Optiwhite™ with 16mm, 90 per cent argon gas filling Edgetech Superspace and 4mm Pilkington K Glass™. Rapid Frame’s revolutionary window utilises aluplast’s IDEAL 70 UPVC casement window frame, with the glazing unit manufactured by AG of Barnsley. This groundbreaking product is potentially available to a much wider market than other A rated windows.

Pictured here with Peter Ward, General Manager at Pilkington Gateshead, Bill, who heads up Bill’s Team, has won £300 of Marriott Hotel vouchers for his efforts.
