Cleaning Itself Continuously

Skylights by their very nature are often situated in difficult to reach areas so the inclusion of self-cleaning glass such as Pilkington Activ™ in the windows is ideal. It should be noted that the self-cleaning process in Pilkington Activ™ includes the use of the rain to wash away loosened dirt. This process can only work where the glass is inclined at greater than 15º to the horizontal.

Self-cleaning glass is ideal for any external application, especially large areas like conservatories or difficult to reach places such as skylights. By continually cleaning itself, self-cleaning glass gives you a clearer view and your windows look cleaner for longer. It needs little maintenance, and can be combined with other types of glass for additional benefits such as security, heat insulation or keeping areas cool.
