Winter Garden at the World Financial Centre, New York

Products Used Pilkington Planar™, Pilkington Optiwhite™, Pilkington K Glass™, Pilkington Optifloat™ Clear Description W&W Glass, accredited designer, installer and sole distributor of Pilkington Planar™ structural glass facades in the US, re-glazed the entire skylight of the Winter Garden at the World Financial Centre in New York. Together with architects Cesar Pelli and Associates, the 10,000 square feet façade was glazed with Pilkington Planar™. The roof at the east side of the Winter Garden was glazed with over 1300 units of energy efficient low-E glass.
The suspended Pilkington Planar™ façade was made up of insulating glass units incorporating Pilkington Optiwhite™ and Pilkington K Glass™supported by 19mm Pilkington Optifloat™ clear T, toughened and heat soaked glass fins. The roof glazing specification was also insulating glass units, with inner panes of laminated glass.
