Pilkington energiKare™ Tackles CO˛ Emissions Head On
30 October 2009With climate change a hot topic at the recent political party conferences, Pilkington has released figures showing an amazing 2.5 million tonnes of CO² will be saved in the UK over the next 20 years thanks to installations of energy efficient glazing Pilkington energiKare™. Calculations show that installing Pilkington energiKare™ saves householders, on average, more than 20 tonnes of CO² per window across its lifetime, compared to basic single glazing. With more than a million windows incorporating Pilkington energiKare™ installed since the product’s launch in 2007, these results show Pilkington energiKare™ is an effective way to improve the energy-efficiency of a home. What’s more, Pilkington has estimated that if every household in the UK replaced their glazing with Pilkington energiKare™, over 20 years the nation would save a massive 234 million tonnes of CO² and £149billion off their fuel bills.

Pilkington energiKare™ combines two leading Pilkington products, Pilkington Optiwhite™ and Pilkington K Glass™, and can reduce net heat loss from windows by up to 90 per cent, when upgrading from single glazing.
